Fête des Lumières

Every year, Lyon puts on its best and brightest and welcomes visitors from all over the world to celebrate the holidays with the Fête des Lumières. Different artists are asked to create light displays and shows which will be cast all over the city for people to walk up and down the rues sipping on vin chaud and enjoying the show.  The video below is a short clip of what was being played on a rotation of about every 6 minutes at place terraux.

Elsewhere in the city there were sights like...

this dragon in the fountain by cordeliers
This illuminated character by the fountain at the Hotel de Ville

These hearts over the street

These lights near the Opéra.

This "paint" oozing down the Théâtre de Celestins

and this lighted path towards the dragon.
Were all lit up and waiting to be seen. It was estimated that about 4 million people visited the lights this year, I don't question why.
